Faculty of Education
The Faculty of Education is engaged in equipping educators with the advanced specialized knowledge and practical skills that are required in 21st century educational settings. The Faculty provides a wealth of opportunities to learn in real-world classroom situations including university-affiliated elementary schools, junior high schools, and special needs schools, as well as unique programs such as the "Remote Area/Combined Classes Teaching Practice Course," which takes students into the mountainous and remote terrain of Wakayama. The Faculty of Education offers a curriculum that covers diverse educational areas, taught by instructors who are experts in their fields. As a result, students have the opportunity to experience various fields before they decide on their own educational specialization.
Teacher Training Course
Based on a deep understanding of human learning and specialized knowledge in science, art, and culture, the Teacher Training Course fosters teachers to develop the sophisticated qualities and abilities required to support the growth and development of the children who will lead the next generation. The Teacher Training Course is made up of three fields: Education Science, Subject Matter Teaching, and Primary Education. Students in the Education Science Course work toward becoming teachers in elementary schools, junior high schools, and special needs schools by specializing in one educational area including psychology, special needs education, and applied education. Students in the Subject Matter Teaching Course work on one of the various subject matter disciplines. The Primary Education Course prepares teachers to specialize in elementary school education by developing a comprehensive perspective that combines Education Science and Subject Matter Teaching.

Course Specializing in Professional Development in Education
The Graduate School of Education offers four courses: School Improvement Management, Specialist, Improving Practical Teaching Skills, and Special Support Education. Students from undergraduate schools and current teachers work together to develop future school education leaders.
In addition, the “Master of Education for Professional Development” degree is awarded to those who are recognized as having reached the goal of becoming "teachers who continue to learn," possessing a high level of expertise and research skills, a sense of cooperation and ethics, an interest in the local community, and a global perspective.
